Samsara - Mountain Bike

The next generation of freestyle jump bikes all built around a common design language, starting with an entry level dirt jump build.

Mafiabikes has been extremely successful over the last 12 years by designing and selling BMX bikes. As the brand grows in popularity is was decided to branch out into other disciplines and so in 2015 they started making low end Dirt Jump bikes. With the success or the Blackjack Dirt Jump bike the next stage was to make a higher end bike but to sell it under the brands original name "Amity". With this the idea was born to re-launch Amity with a new high end Dirt Jump bike set to launch in September 2022.
This bike was to set the baseline for a range of new bikes including a pumptrack bike, high end aftermarket frames and a small travel full suspension bike

Pre-production Sample Photoshoot
2 years of development and testing saw countless renders, 3 rounds of prototypes and the production bikes on sale in September of 2022. Soft tooling was not an option for theses hydroformed Aluminium tubes and so only the first prototypes used stock tubing to confirm that the frame geometry was correct. FEA, 3D prints and renders all then played a vital role in allowing us to go straight to tooling for the next 2 prototyping stages.

A similar dilemma applied to the forged dropouts however a combination of CNC machined parts and FEA were able to reduce the risks enough. Afterall the forged production dropouts would only be stronger than the CNC prototypes.
Freestyle bikes get more abuse than most so durability was the main concern. Real world testing played a huge part in this project eventually resulting in a 2.1Kg Aluminium frame that maintains a "clean and simple" aesthetic.
This frame was then upgraded for aftermarket "frameset only" sales, to a truly class leading specification including integrated chain tensioners, internal cable routing, integrated crank stopper, gyro mounts and a sub 2Kg weight.
These frames are set to go on sale in late 2023
