E-Bikes

Start Date: December 2020

End Date: Ongoing

Background:

E-Bikes are one of the fastest growing transport sectors in the world at the moment and with recent changes in legislation and law set to encorage "green tranport alternatives" the industry is set to boom.

In 2020 Stomp decided to design their own comuter bikes including 2 electric models to be sold allongside non-electric counterparts under a new brand called Bradley.

The 2 models are to include a "Sport" model and a "Shopper" with effort made to avoid designs that will only appeal to a single gender.

Project Scope:

2 Models, 2 size each, 4 colourways each.

In-house design: Frame and fork including Headtube, Dropouts and Steerer tube. Handlebars

This project has been plagued with delays largily due to the Coronavirus pandemic boosting demand for bikes and creating massive leadtimes for vital components.

E-Bikes are unlike any other type of bike that Stomp design in that they are very component dense. By that I mean that a much larger percentage of user experience comes from the components, for example the power/motor system and the drivetrain. For this reason the decision was made not to compromise on quality in order to decrease leadtime.
